What is MARXOSO ?

MARXOSO is a free software project to manage Sports Events, such as athletics, cycling, car and motorbike races … in fact, ANY sports event with a start-line, a finish line and a race time in-between.

MARXOSO wants to offer the maximum possible tools to the organizers of Sport Events for that organization does not become an arduous and tedious task.

MARXOSO starts with a via desktop software in python (http://www.python.org) + wxPython (http://www.wxpython.org), as used up to now to power MySQL databases. Its general features include:

• Multi-Platform: working wherever python + wxPython does (up to now, it’s been tested under Linux - GTK+ 1.2.10 y 2.2.0 – Win 9x, Me, NT 4 SP, XP)

• Sports Clubs: you can manage all the clubs you want

• Club Sports Management

• Category Management: by ages and for each club sport

• Multi-Event: you can manage any sport within your club

• Multi-Stage/Multi-Race: you can create all the stages/races you want, giving you the power to manage the following examples more efficiently:

• One-day race format

• Cycling tours of any length

• Sports competitions in league or classification format

• Independent Participant Management: each stage/race can be managed separately from its participants (although participants and their results have to be transferred manually from day-to-day for multi-day sports events

• Automatic Category Assignation: at the press of a button, categories will be given to each participant, depending on his/her sex and age.

• Automatic Race Number Assignation: at the press of another button, participants receive an automatically-ordered race-number

• Personally-Printed Race Numbers: there is a choice of race-number formats for each stage/day.

• Stage/Day Start-Line Control

• Finish-Line Control (by time and/or points): arrival at the finish-line gives participants their personal times and their general and category race position. We can even give, for example, the first 10 finishers, a number of points.

• Diploma-Printing: you wouldn’t expect less – everyone wants a souvenir of their blood, sweat and tears put into the stage/race. So, we’ll be able to choose a diploma format with every participant’s race position, time, average speed and so on.
