MARXOSO

How can I help ?

First of all, let me thank you from the heart of my bottom on behalf of all the MARXOSO community for showing even the slightest interest in the project. It’s a miracle you’re even reading this. Any help is always gratefully received, and here’s a list indicating just where your help may be needed:

  • Do you like MARXOSO – did it live up to your expectations; did it help you?

If the answer is YES, the first thing you could do (you ingrate!) is tell everyone about it, tell them to install it, tell them to tell someone else. If you really are a good-hearted, well-meaning, stand-up kind of a chap (or chap-ess), you could even think about giving something to the project to help it grow, expand, improve and take on a life of its own… As long as you’ve got the time and dedication, we won’t force you to do anything.

  • Parlez-vous otro lingo sprechen?

If the answer is YES, then at least you understand the above garble… You could help by translating anything about the project (web texts, software) into a language you know and love. You could even try to sort this magnificent English translation out. Anything and anyone is welcome. Even me.
You can begin translating the software downloading this
file and to translate it to your language. If you have doubts of as making the translation you can be lowered this example of the translation to the Spanish. Once it has made the translation sends the translated file to marxoso@marxoso.org.

  • Can you hack it in programming or software development?

If you’re a programmer, well, you’re just the person we need, aren’t you my dearie? You could revolutionise everything, correct the glitches, make it user-friendly, and then – after a cup of tea and a biscuit - package it all up to install it in other applications. In short, do a better job than we’ve done.

  • Are you fluent in MARXOSO?

The answer’s YES again, isn’t it? I feel I’m getting to know you much better. Why don’t you initiate some of the newer users in MARXOSO? You know you want to. You could help out on the help-lines:

    • Forums: Answering all (well, not ALL) the questions that other users post.
    •  Mailing Lists: Replying to all the e-mail queries from the uninitialised.

In short, all the jobs we’d prefer not to do…

  • Do you think the MARXOSO help documentation isn’t as complete as it should be?

If you reply YES to this one, you’re in trouble. Don’t you realise I’ve been slaving my guts out for years trying to get this project together? OK, OK, I know … like the ad says – Impossible is Nothing – maybe it’s not as good as it could be. You could help me (please). Expand on my pathetic efforts, solve the up-and-coming glitches and blaze a trail through the computing obstacles laid out by me so that others may not suffer along the way.

  • Are you a MARXOSO User and you do NOT want to help with any of the above ideas?

You see, even if you answer YES to this one, we can still ensnare you craftily into our web. It’s easy-peasy:

    • Just tell us about any mistakes you’ve found with the program: if you find a bug, send the problem to the designers. Somebody’s got to fix it (even if you don’t fancy it) – and quick!! There’s millions of people hanging on our every mouse-click. Please use this link and tell us all about it. You know it makes sense.
    •  Suggest a new function. So what if you can’t translate or program or design or promote or innovate or sell or even use MARXOSO properly. Wait a minute – what CAN you do, then? Well, you can suggest a new function. Though this is obviously a cop-out, you may just have the brainwave that changes the history of Sports Event Management. Or you may not. It’ll still be welcome if you click on the link and tell us.
